Block Puzzle

What is Block Puzzle?

Block Puzzle is a line-clearing block puzzle: place shaped blocks on a grid and fill a full row or column to clear it. Unlike falling-block puzzles, blocks don’t fall — you place given pieces wherever you want, so there’s no time pressure and you can read moves calmly. It runs in the browser with no install: drag on desktop, touch on mobile. When there’s no room to place a piece, the game ends, so keep clearing lines to free space.

The rule is “fill a line to clear it,” but the shapes given each round differ, so you must think about both where this block goes and what room to leave for the next.

How to play

  1. Check the given block pieces (usually several).
  2. Drag a block onto empty cells — no rotation, place as given.
  3. Fill a full row or column to clear it and score.
  4. If no piece can be placed, the game ends.

Strategy to last longer

  • Keep a big open area — reserve space for large pieces like a 3×3 or long bar.
  • Fill edges and corners first — using the center splits the board into fragments.
  • Aim for multi-line clears — set up several nearly-full lines and clear them together.
  • Avoid single-cell holes — enclosed one-cell gaps are hard to fill.

Why beginners lose

Beginners drop blocks wherever they fit, then get stuck when a big piece arrives. Check that all given pieces can be placed and always keep one open area for large blocks.

Pieces are placed as given; placement judgment matters more than rotation.

Time limit?

No — it’s a calm placement puzzle.

Mobile-friendly?

Do the blocks fall from the top?

No. You place the supplied pieces into empty spaces yourself.
