How to work through a passage

Choose a title from the text list and type the highlighted line into the input field. The line marks show matching and mismatched characters as you type. Include the punctuation shown, then press Enter to submit the line and move to the next one.

The practice timer starts with your first input. Complete the last line to see WPM, accuracy and elapsed time. Use Again to practise the same passage, Pick another text for a different title, or Texts to return to the list during a session.

English WPM uses matching characters divided by five per minute. Accuracy reflects the submitted lines, including punctuation and mismatches. Pressing Enter submits a line even when it has errors, so check the current line before moving on.

Passage length, familiar wording, punctuation and keyboard layout can change a result. Time spent pausing after you start also contributes to elapsed time. Compare repeated attempts on the same passage and device for a more useful personal reference; the result is a practice summary, not a certified typing qualification or a comparison with the separate one-minute test.
