What happens when you change the weather?
Weather World is a free 3D web simulation where you control the weather over a little village. Rain sends the farmer to the fields and brings out umbrellas; hail and storms send villagers running for cover. It isn’t just a backdrop — water, food, health, happiness and buildings all respond to the weather.
Getting started
Pick Rain at the bottom and tap the fields. Tap a villager to read their role and what’s on their mind. Switch the weather area to Whole map to rain on everyone, or back to Selected area to place weather exactly where you want. Manual lightning strikes where you tap; a full storm brings lightning across the village.
Effects include fog, hail, snow, strong wind, storm, heatwave, cold snap, drought and sandstorm. Adjust the intensity and watch both the villagers and the status panel. Temperature always affects the whole village — warm days glow red, cold days blue. Choose Sunlight to return to calm weather.
How does the village grow?
It starts with 12 villagers. Keep water, food, health, happiness and buildings in good shape — with no severe disasters or extreme temperatures — for two in-game days and a new villager arrives. At 30, 40, 48 and 60 villagers new districts open, growing to 72 villagers and 25 buildings.
At 1× speed, 30 real seconds is one village day; 3× and 8× speed things up, and pause gives you time to think. Even sunny days won’t help if there’s no water or a cold snap drags on. Follow the hints on the status panel. If water and food run out for a long time, the population can shrink.
Observing with kids
Change only the rain, or only the temperature, and guess what will happen first. Then compare the fields, the villagers’ faces and the water and food numbers. It uses simple made-up rules, not real weather data or a validated teaching tool.
Saving and use
Runs in your browser with no install or sign-up. Progress and weather settings save in this browser only and won’t sync to other devices. Time doesn’t pass while the page is closed or in another tab. Start a new village resets after a confirmation.
Balance water and food, not just sunshine
Sunny weather alone does not make the village grow. Watch water, food, health, happiness and building condition while avoiding extreme temperatures and disasters. Change one condition at a time and compare the figures and behaviour before and after.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work on phones?
Yes, with touch controls and a small-screen menu. It needs a recent browser with 3D graphics; speed depends on the device. Use the full-screen button if the page feels cramped.
Can I turn down sound or lightning?
Sound starts off and can be turned on at the top. In the ? guide you can reduce lightning flashes.
Where are the other creative worlds?
Visit Creative World for Drawing World and Aqua World.
When do new residents arrive?
Maintain adequate resources, resident and building condition without severe disasters or extreme temperatures for two in-game days. The village can grow to 72 residents and 25 buildings.
How do I make it rain across the whole map?
Change the weather range to Whole map. Local mode applies weather where you place it, but temperature always affects the whole village.
Does this predict real weather or population growth?
No. It uses simplified fictional rules for observation, rather than a scientific forecasting or population model.
